I would never recommend anyone to this clinic. They're only out for the buck and have no general care whatsoever. After leaving Angel Animal Hospital in Florence for lack of business and change of staff, I took my 18 year old [indoor] cat in to Middendorf for a groom. I figured what better place to take a cat for a groom then one that is affiliated with a vet. They called and said that she needed her updated shots/vaccines/rabies. I asked if all this was safe for an 18 year old cat. They said, "Absolutely. It's 100% okay for the cat to have all that." What do I know? Im not a vet. I figured they would have the best interest for my fury feline. After bringing her home, she didn't seem quit right to me. They assured me it was just the medicine making her woozy and that it will pass in a few hours. The next day, I find her barely breathing and lying in her own urine. I rushed her up there and they immediately put her on oxygen. I was so distraught; I immediately wanted to speak to Middendorf. I explained to him everything, and he denied everything. He said, "My staff would never recommend all these vaccines to an 18 year old cat. I don't know who called your house and told you that, but it wasn't anyone from our staff." So, he basically said I made all that up and told them to do the shots...Yeah, that makes sense. If he claims his staff wouldn't recommend that, then even if I had told them to do it, then why did they??! He was very mean and claimed that he had a "meeting" to rush out to and didn't seem very apologetic or showed any empathy towards the situation. My family and I had to make the worst decision...the only one at that point....and put her down. A week had past and the in the mailbox came a HUGE bill. They charged for her grooming/shots and euthanizing. Wow.
